Faulty Rockshox Revelations :(

After the weekend maintenance on the Cove and taking them into my local bike shop I’ve had enough of them :( The original fault of severe clunking has now been accompanied by a leaky compression/ rebound and tabs that are “off” enough to cause rotor rub regardless of what you do.

Talking more to the mechanic at BikeHQ it seems that these problems are very common and I’d have to agree as this is the second pair of Rockshox to have a leaky compression chamber. The first of which totally blew on an epic ride after leaking for some weeks prior. They are total LEMONS and are off back to Chain Reaction Cycles under warranty. Fingers crossed that I get a set that work this time…. because they are a FANTASTIC fork.

I think that my next set of forks will be FOX :)

Tough luck there. I would go for the Fox,much more plush.

Aside from the issues these forks have been the best I’ve owned- they are really plush and eat up the rough stuff. But yes- FOX for reliability next time I think.

Hows your summer coming along over there by the way? I woke to snow this morning! hehe.
