Rain rain rain

I’m still struggling with riding the same old trails here in Christchurch over and over and over again due to the worst winter on record in 10 years (so they say :/). The problem is that even with 4- 5 days of sunshine which does bless this island occasionally throughout winter time… it does not seem to dry anything out. Then it rains again…. for upto 5 days straight… and then some sun, but no real “trail drying heat”. Then repeat.

Porthills have been closed for 2.5 months now and the only tracks are Rapaki- Worsley or the roads. On a positive note- I’ve managed to keep the cranks turning this season which is more than most others it seems. Even guys that I rode with over the summer who were hardcore Christchurch riders have thrown in the towel due to the shocking weather this year….I’m not going to let it get to me though….. I’ve ridden this far this winter through rain, mud, snow and sleet….. so fuck you winter! Tonight I ride solo (as usual) at Bottlelake on the singlespeed with the iPod blasting.

I MUST get some waterproof socks for next year though :/
