After waiting close to 3 months for a warranty replacement this arrived this afternoon!
Sadly it required a trip (and another cost ontop of the $70 postage to the NZ distributor) to my local bike shop to tap out the bottom bracket though as Lynskey seemed to have used a blunt tool during the $4000.00 + process. Why anyone would go to so much care to make such a cutting edge frame and then neglect the basics…. I’ll never know.
Another rant is how Lynskey feel that whacking a massive dent in the tube near the headtube is an acceptable “feature”. That’s right…. it has a huge dent in the down tube. Apparently this “feature” is to fix fork clearance issues…..which may I add was never an issue for me in the first place.
Yes it might help clearance and yes it might strengthen this area without the need of a gusset blah blah blah….. but seriously Lynskey…..IT IS UGLY AS SIN.
Visual characteristics and hassles aside. At least it is here and who knows…. I may even get to ride it in the sun on the weekend! Yeah yeah… once I get out on the trail and feel the fantastic ride of the frame I’m sure that I’ll soon forget how ugly it is
….Maybe.
