Port Hills into Taylors Mistake

Craig, Spencer and I headed up and over to Taylors again yesterday with a few cold ones in Sunmer. After being off the bike this week due to a head cold from the devil himself plus rain and temperatures similar to winter (with -2deg over most nights!) the sunshine and companionship was very welcomed.

I started off up Rapaki in my traditional way… hurting and chasing…. but then the remainder of the ride with mind blowing descents and technical rocky climbs “just worked”. The weight on my back decreasing as I drank from the 3lt Camelbak bladder also helped too as we headed up and over to the coast :D

I love it when a plan comes together *puffs on cigar* (A-Team?).

In other news, the Marin has been paid for and will ship Monday from Hamilton…so I’m looking forward to playing with my new toy this week. With a ride planned to the Wharfedale Track for the long weekend (woot woot another 4 day week) I’m not to sure I’ll be happy to ride the new bike after not spending some quality time setting it up and getting to “know it”. Lets see.

I’ve also got rid of the XTR wheels…. and the buyer got them for a steal…that’s all I can say. But they have gone and helped to pay for the new Marin…. so I’m a happy bunny.
