Bottlelake Forest

After work I headed to Bottlelake for my regular mid week ride. Tonight was solo as everyone was either working late or had other plans. After this weeks dry spell the track was fast, dusty and a little washy in places due to alot of lines resembling sand more than dirt.

It is at this time of year that I consider swapping the rigid forks for some suspension as It’s pretty hard on the back and neck being so hard packed. I reckon a set of Rebas would work well for the summer and rigid for the winter.

In other news- I got a call from the bike shop this afternoon to tell me that the Wolf Ridge has arrived and is ready to pick up. I’ll grab it after work tomorrow and post up some pics :D Today was a long day…. as I got the call this morning!

the wolf is coming! you must be finding it hard to sleep at night. as for the trails, i do envy what you have on offer as well as the fact you can squeeze a mid week ride in.

I’d be a fibber if I said sleeping has been easy this week :D And yes… I’m very fortunate to have a new ride and time to ride mid week on dirt….and I’m very grateful too.

The Wolf has arrived BTW- but I’m off to ride Wharfedale today (another long weekend :) ) so will take a look at swapping parts/ tinkering with it tomorrow before I take it for it’s maiden voyage up the Hills on Sunday.

First impressions are wow! the white parts are wanky, and how cool is this Maxle thing! I’ll post pics soon!
