New Years Eve Port Hills spin with Spencer

Spence text me this morning wondering if I fancied a run up Port Hills across Mount Vernon and then over to Vic Park via the Traverse…. and I was not sure after yesterdays epic… but I’ve not seen him for a while due to Christmas so I was in :D The Rapaki climb killed both of us as it was 30+ degs today and we cooked, but once we got to the top it was lovely with a refreshing breeze. I’m glad that I went up as the suffering is worth what Vic Park offers and in particular I’m really loving the “Sesame Street” track with its dry, rooty, chopped up and technical tracks… which these days is just how me and the Wolf I like it!

I’m a little concerned though as the bike has adopted a very audible “clunk” at the pivot/ bearing and ONCE MORE I have a severely leaking compression chamber/ valve on the Pike fork. If you sit it upside down the oil literally drips out :/ This is my third consecutive Rockshox fork with this issue…. so off to the local bike shop I go sometime next week. Thankfully I’ve learnt my lesson when it comes to warranties and having bought the bike locally it should be sweet. Meanwhile I’ll keep on trucking as the issues don’t seem to be effecting the way the bike rides :D
