GT Peace as a single speed commuter

Until I’ve researched and built up a dedicated commuter / touring bike that has pannier mounts I’ve decided to enroll the singlespeed GT Peace for winter commuting duties. I picked up a new and swanky FSA front chain ring and a beefy BMX chain today and spent a few hours in the shed…to get the ball rolling.

With a ratio of 36 x 14 and a pair of Specialized Fatboy tyres the Peace should fly! I still have a fair list of things to sort out, including the “seat post mounted” rack and panniers, as bleeding the Hayes Stroker Trail brakes. I’ll post up some more images of the final build and let you know how it rides once it has all been sorted.
